Your clinician reviews the intake and shapes the evaluation around your child’s age and presentation, including the conditions most relevant to explore and the adjacent concerns worth ruling in or out.

Clinical Session
Meet through a secure video session. For younger children the session is built around the caregiver interview and structured observation; older children and teens participate directly with your clinician.

Results
Your secure portal gives you ongoing access to your child’s results, recommendations, and next steps. You can return to them anytime and download an official diagnostic report when you need it.

Dr. Lopez is a licensed psychologist and board-certified behavior analyst with 25 years of clinical experience in the diagnosis of autism and related neurodevelopmental conditions in children. His career began at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine’s Center for Development and Disability, conducting multidisciplinary evaluations in families’ homes across the state, an early conviction that diagnostic access shouldn’t be limited by geography or by which clinician a family can reach.
He has since built and led national telehealth evaluation teams, secured a multi-year New Mexico Rural Health Care Delivery Fund grant to expand statewide telehealth diagnostic access for families, and contributed to the original design and subsequent iterations of New Mexico Medicaid’s autism benefits. Every NeuroClarity child evaluation reflects that depth of pediatric diagnostic experience.

We evaluate children ages 1 to 17. The evaluation itself adapts to your child’s age: for toddlers and young children, the process is caregiver-led, built on your observations, developmental history, and structured measures. Older children and teens participate directly with the clinician alongside caregiver input.
Most families come to us with a specific question, usually autism or ADHD. The answer is yes, we evaluate for that. And because conditions in childhood frequently overlap, mask, and mimic one another, we look across neurodevelopmental conditions in one clinician-led process rather than testing for a single condition in isolation.
Alongside the primary question, your clinician considers related concerns that can resemble or accompany it, such as anxiety, language differences, and learning patterns, and works out whether they better explain what you are seeing, sit alongside another condition, or can be ruled out.
For young children, the most clinically valuable information comes from the people who know the child best. The evaluation is built on in-depth caregiver interviews, standardized measures completed by caregivers, and where appropriate teachers, and structured observation of your child guided by the clinician over secure video.
This model is well established in pediatric telehealth diagnostic work. Our clinical leadership has spent decades conducting evaluations this way, including statewide telehealth programs built specifically to reach families without nearby specialists.
Yes. You can download a formal written clinical report signed by your child’s doctoral-level licensed evaluating clinician. It includes clinical history, the assessments administered, findings, formal diagnoses where criteria are met, and specific recommendations. Schools recognize this documentation in IEP and 504 conversations, and providers can use it to guide care.
The evaluation is fully self-pay, which means transparent, predictable pricing with no surprise bills. You pay one flat fee for the full evaluation, and many families use HSA or FSA funds at checkout.
After the evaluation, we can provide a superbill upon request, an itemized clinical receipt you can submit to your insurance plan for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Reimbursement is determined by your plan.
Every evaluation is conducted by a doctoral-level licensed clinician, PhD or PsyD, who signs and stands behind their own diagnostic findings. We do not use master’s-level clinicians or postdoctoral trainees for diagnostic work.
